Okay, things are going to be a little quiet here on the blog for the next few days. I’m prepping for the Washington Bridal Expo which is in Chantilly, Va on Sunday, Feb. 1. Yes, that’s right, Superbowl Sunday. Right now my studio is literally covered in invitations AND I’m trying to figure out why one of the lights on my display does not work. Grrrrr.
Ok. off to work. If you’re in the area, stop my booth!
Holy cow, these are uber gorgeous. My new word is uber, thanks to my friend, Alexis. Really, if I were planning my wedding all over again, I would SO get these linens for my reception. Problem is, there are so many to choose from. They’re all so yummy.
Check out La Tavola Fine Linen Rental for more info!
Who should send them?
Couples getting married on a holiday weekend, at a destination location or those inviting a majority guests from out of town. Other than that, they’re super fun, but not mandatory.
When do you send them?
Mail them at least six months (but no more than a year) before your wedding.
What information should they include?
An announcement of your nuptials (”We’re getting married!”), your names, the wedding date, the location and the words, “invitation to follow.” You may also provide your wedding website and any hotel and travel information if you’d like.
If you’ve never heard of Freecycle, you’ve got to visit the site today. Freecycle is a grassroots, nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It’s all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer and membership is totally free. I’ve been freecycling for years and love it. I get rid of a lot of stuff that I no longer need yet would hate to put in the trash. Example: My niece’s clothes which she outgrew. Tons of cute stuff from the Gap, Limited Too, etc. Freecycled it all to a young single mom who needed it badly.
“Our mission is to build a worldwide gifting movement that reduces waste, saves precious resources & eases the burden on our landfills while enabling our members to benefit from the strength of a larger community.”
