Graceful Envelope Contest 2008
Monday, December 8th, 2008I. LOVE. THIS.
Every year, the Washington Calligraphers Guild along with the National Association of Letter Carriers holds an incredibly wonderful and awesome contest, The Graceful Envelope Contest. In addition to promoting the art of calligraphy, the Graceful Envelope Contest celebrates the role of letters in binding people together and serves as a reminder that the people who deliver the mail are career government employees who take pride in their work and care about the communities they serve.
This contest is special to me for lots of reasons, but most of all for my passion for calligraphy, my love of a handwritten letter and my appreciation of our awesome postal system. I love entering this contest - it’s one of the most exciting projects I work on each year. This year’s theme was the letter C.
